It's been a while since I've done a blog post, quite honestly due to WesOnSTEM becoming the movement of, "Leading students through higher education"

I never thought this would be what WesOnSTEM would become. Originally it was simply a method for me to share my own journey through STEM and hopefully give people some help along the way. But now so much of WesOnSTEM has become purely helping people through the college admissions process, something that I feel goes overlooked for transfers.

Not that I'm complaining about this, I love the impact I've had on thousands of students across the globe, inspiring them to shoot higher than they ever thought. However as WesOnSTEM grows, I've been thinking more and more about how I'm remembered in the world.

For so long, it was "Wesley Marshall of El Camino College" or "Student Trustee Wesley Marshall" and now my service to the California Community College system isn't what people recognize me as. I just went to the Community College League of California Student Trustee Conference, the one I attended two years ago, and when I was there people recognized me as, "The guy from TikTok and Instagram" or "The guy who transferred to Stanford"

I guess this showed me that my impacts on community college students goes beyond my service as a Trustee, as the VP of Finance, or even as a student of the system. My impact is now through sharing my journey, inspiring students, and helping future transfers make their way into the schools of their dreams.
